Kanazawa - Fukui - Takayama... but how???

Hello!

I'm traveling to Japan for the first time next month. I'll arrive in Kanazawa and from there there are some places I was thinking of checking out before heading on to Tokyo:
  • Kanazawa
  • Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum
  • Takayama
  • Kiso Valley
  • Tokyo
The problem is that it seems like a nightmare to get around this area without a car. Kanazawa to Fukui seems easy enough, but then I'm lost. Any tips of how to get around with public transport or suggestions of how I should change my itinerary?

P.S: What's the hitchhiking situation in Japan?

Take the train. Japan Rail goes to all of those places. There are also buses.

On japan-guide.com, once you get to the page for any particular destination, scroll down to “Access” and then click on whatever links you need.
