KAL Carry on Baggage Restrictions
Korean Air Lines carry on baggage rules indicate that the weight limit of the two pieces a passenger is allowed to carry on the plane is 25 lbs. How strictly is this enforced? Are both bags weighed at check in or prior to boarding? When we flew Alitalia Airlines recently we strictly adhered to their carry on rules only to see that no other passengers on our flight did and Alitalia officials did not seem to care either. Just wondering if we should plan to check our larger bag (a 22" Hovercraft) and carry on only the smaller more typical carry on bag? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

As someone who is flying today on Alitalia and is worried about carry-ons, your post was inadvertently helpful.
But your topic is KoreanAir and I can tell you only that they are VERY strict about weight in general at their Incheon airport base. I have passed through that airport several times flying business class and each time my bags were weighed and even though I was just a few kgs over the limit, I had to repack everything on the spot to avoid extra baggages fees....
I would not count on flaunting rules with them.. You may get lucky, true, but maybe not.
The same bags that were so scrutinized by KoreanAir in business were accepted by Asiana in coach class, by the way. No repacking necessary.
