Judhpur or Udaipur
Jodhpur or Udaipur if you had to pick one. I assume there's no easy road connecting the two.
thnx |
No its a LONG drive! My fav place is Jaisalmer but it is also the longest to reach. I'd say udaipur - Udaipur also has good flt connections to both Mumbai and Delhi.

I loved Udaipur because there is so much art there-- I spent a lot of time at a miniature painting studio.I loved walking around as well. It was one of my favorite places in Rajasthan. I spent 4 days there and had a great time.

glorialf - we will be going to Udaipur on our upcoming trip. We'd love the names of any galleries/studios that you particularly recommend. Thanks!

From the point of view of sightseeing, Udaipur does score over Jodhpur. The city palace, museum & crystal gallery are the best in north & western India. If you have an interest in vintage & classic cars, do visit HH's motor garage. You will see a number of Rolls royces, plymouths, cadillacs there. the jeep that you see is perhaps one of the three or four ever made by RR. Mira Kala academy performances of classical dance are good. The Mewar school of art produces some great works.
As for Jodhpur, Mehrangarh Fort perched high up on the hill, is worth visiting & is a photographers delight. The clock museum inside the Umaid Bhawan is just ok. |
yeah i'd say Udaipur - more there than Jodhpur
