Jewellery Store Recommendations in Bangkok

Hi All

I am taking in Bangkok and Phuket for our honeymoon in Jan 2007.
I would like to buy a special piece of jewellery to remember my honeymoon by. I was thinking maybe diamond earrings ( small ) or a single diamond necklace.

Anyone have any first hand recommendations in either Bangkok or Phuketand and any tips on how I can be sure I am buying the real thing/ value for money ??

Tks!

Yes, Kathie's jeweler...SJ International in Bnagkok. You can go to sjinternational.com to pull up the address. We've done a LOT of talk on jewelry-buying in Bangkok and again recently. Do a search in the above search box. Type in,"Jewelry in Bangkok" to see if it pops up or click on Kathie's or my name and scroll until the thread pops up. Kathie and some of the other regulars on this board are traveling now as we tend to travel in Nov/Dec/Jan so the board is a bit slow right now...Happy Travels!

Definitely SJ. Call them and they'll send a car for you. Don't worry, it's a no pressure kind of place. Tell them Kathie from Seattle sent you and the prices will be dramatically reduced!

You can't go wrong here. Everything I've bought impressed my jeweler at home! Everything is what they say it is, and if you don't find it on display they'll find it in the millions of boxes hidden in the back. they have a full range from $5 silver rings to one-of-a-kind royal jewels!

I can also get in line and recommend SJ Jewelers. Lucy is right, no pressure and don't forget to ask for Lily and mention Kathie from Seattle sent you. Be careful not to get carried away as we usually do.

Aloha!

And let me recommend that you buy either rubies or sapphires rather than diamonds. Rubies and sapphires are a real bargain. Diamonds are internationally priced, so you won't save much money.

Call SJ for transportation.
