Hello<BR>I would like some recommendations of places where you have shopped for jewelery in CM and BKK that you feel you paid a fair price. I am mostly looking for gold necklaces, earrings, and bracelets not loose stones. In CM we are at the Weston and BKK at the riverside Marriott. <BR>Any suggestions on how to avoid a scam?<BR>Thanks, Lora

Avoid a scam by buying only from reputable jewelers. There are many. The place I've been buying from for many years is SJ International, 125/8 Sawankhalok Road, Dusit, Bamgkok, telephone: 02-2411875, 02-2432446.

Any suggestions for where to purchase silver jewelry?

lim stores on oriental lane, in back of the oriental hotel...we have had very good luck with them

I got gorgeous 23K gold necklace and bracelt at the Warowot market in Chiang Mai at very reasonable price. The market is just a bit north of the night market, as I recall. There are several jewelry shops next to each other. Anywhere you shop, be sure to compare prices and do a little haggling (yes, even for jewelry). I found that with jewelry the first price quoted is not marked up very high.
