jet lag article

this subject has been discussed on this board at various times. here's an article from our local paper this past sunday. the article also mentions the fleetstreet clinic and its jet lag calculator.

thanks for the info...pretty much common sense and sleep as usual. Bob and I find just what he says works...A glass of wine, sleeping pill, eye mask and hopefully you are at your destination, ready to go.

I saw this article on Sunday. It usually takes me at least two glasses of wine though but I forgo the cheese....too many calories :)

Aloha!

Read this with interest and then glee to read that the last two years of sleep deprivation (natural body clock would have me go to sleep at midnight, toddler's natural body clock would have her wake me at 5.30am) bodes well for no jetlag this time around!! how exciting!

Coming from UK, we are lucky as we don't have much jetlag going to Asia and we always get night flights so we can sleep on the plane. I don't take anything - I find that the minute the plane takes off and starts gaining altitude, I CANNOT stay awake. This happens whether it is a nightflight to Asia or a 1 hour hop to Paris. I am just hoping that my toddler has inherited this...

I'm in favor of wine. Never take sleeping pills. Things that have helped me the most when going to asia are 1) SAVING MY MILES FOR BUSINESS CLASS and 2) taking flights that don't land at 1AM but get in late afternoon so I can have a light dinner with wine and go to sleep at around 9PM. That's why I loved the thai air flight so much.
