I am planning to visit Japan in Spring 2010. We will stay for approximately ten (10) days. Can anyone suggest a very good tour company that is not outrageously expensive...not more than $3000 per person.

What cities or places did you want to visit in ten days and where are you flying from?

Thank you ever so much for the advice. The primary places we would like to visit are Tokyo, Nikko, Hakone, Takayama, Kanazawa and Kyoto...

Six places in 10 days seems very ambitious. I would suggest narrowing it down a little.

We need to know what city you are flying from so the prices we give are realistic.

a tentative 10 day itinerary(not rushed)

Fly into NRT and spend
3-5 days in Tokyo(adjust with Kyoto)
2 nights in Hakone
3-5 nights in Kyoto
Fly home from KIX

would be a good start for a 10 day itinerary

Thanks so much for all the advice. I am looking at flying from New York to Tokyo. And...we have decided to extend the time to fourteen (14) days.
