Japan- National Holiday
 

Hi, I plan to visit Kawagoe and Shitmokitazawa on the 23 of November. As i know, it's a national holiday. The shops in those area will be closed or operate as usual?

Most shops are open on Sunday and holidays as usual as any other days. Each shop has its own closing day once a week ( or less ).

Are you visiting both Kawagoe and Shimokitazawa on one day? I don't know where you will be staying but Shomokitazawa is within Tokyo ( but well outside Yamanote loop JR line. Kawagoe is in another prefecture "Saitama" away from Tokyo so I don't know whatever you are doing is doable....
