Japan/Kyoto

I was planning to visit Japan/Kyoto late
Sept. early Oct. to see the colors of Fall.
I have recently heard that the best time to
see the colors of Fall is mid Nov. Those
who have been there at this time. Please
advise. Thanks

Sep/Oct is too early, still the tail end of summer with temperature around 20-25C. Mid to late Nov is the time to go.

Hi. We went to Kyoto in mid November a couple of years ago. I was worried that it would be too late, but the timing was absolutely right. The foliage was a wonderful site. Just be sure to book your accommodation well in advance. The thing is, a lot of people from all over Japan visit Kyoto at that time, as well. On our trip, my husband decided it would be a breeze and we'd just book a room when we got there. Guess what? We almost had to sleep on the footpath! :)

Have a wonderful time.

We just got back a few days ago from Kyoto and although the gardens are beautiful at any time, Fall is better.

As I was doing some research, I came to find out that on Oct. 19, the day that I will be in Kyoto, there is a Jounan Festival. I was wondering, what the festival is about and what they do.

Thank you,
Amit :)

I think this might be Sports Day. At least that is what it says on my Japanese Calendar. Myszka
