The Nova Special on the quake on PBS was pretty good but pretty scary. The earthquake up north has increased the pressure on the plate near Tokyo....increasing pressure on the big quake that is WAY overdue. My husband's grandmother lived through that big quake in 1923 when Tokyo burned to the ground. Let's hope that NOVA was not correct in its predictions.

Our nephew's date to start his new job in Yokosuka has been delayed 2 months. Keep family in HI and report in June.
Our Chiba friend finally called they left HI on the 11th for home. Everything ok with them. Their home in Tomiura escaped any damage. It sits across from Yokohama and Yokotsuka. He reports the tsunami did damage to the deep water harbor which we gather (it got lost in translation) that Yokotsuka took the hit.
Our other acquaintance just arrived from Chiba and his 2nd floor apartment had lots of damage from the earthquake but nothing compared to the loss of his countrymen up north he says with a shake of head and a bow.
