Who told you October was low season in Japan? We are going to Tokyo on October 4th to visit some very good friends of our there and their word is
that October is high season. Since they grew up there, I guess they know.
The trees are changing colors and are supposed to be beautiful. The peole are wonderful.

I didn't mean that October was "low season" in that sense. More that AA considers it off-season because the awards tickets take less miles. AA considered "low season" in Japan to be October 1 through April 30. Since the tickets are 15,000 miles less than in the summer months I jumped on it...now we still have enough miles left for a free trip to Europe next year!

ps1992, I just read my original post and now I remember posting that. That question, too, was based on the fact that AA requires less miles in October. Usually when they do that with any location its because they consider it off-season.
