Jakarta airport (CGK): arrival, immigation, checkin
Hi,
I am flying into Jakarta (Soekarno Hatta) on 1st May and am planning to book an internal flight to Yogyakarta for the same day (we will spend some time in Jakarta later on). We are scheduled to land at 2.45pm, how long do you think it will take us to clear immigration, collect our luggage, and check-in again for the internal flight? I assume applying for a Visa before travel should speed things up. Thanks! |
For those who may be interested - in other forums e.g. TripAdvisor people suggest that ~3 hours between flights should be fine. I land at 2.45 and have a choice between of flying to Yogyakarta at 5.30 or 6.30. I think I will get the 6.30 just to be on the safe side. I didn't want to get to destination too late, but I guess it's better to be on the safe side.

Hye! How did that work out for you? We have the same option, flight lands at 15u25 (possible flights 17u45 and 18u55)
Thank you |
Hi, you'll probably be ok with the earlier flight.
Our flight into CGK was 20 minutes late, and still we had plenty of time to catch the flight to Yoga. CGK is a very efficient airport, you can go through security and customs very quickly and the domestic check-in is very speedy. If you do the e-visa online, you can use the electronic gates to clear customs and you'll be out in no time. Visa on arrivals has queues |
