Itinerary help - BKK, Laos, Vietnam

Re: Itinerary help plz re: BKK, Laos, Vietnam
We are planning a month or so vacation and in the early stages of planning number of days for each place. Starting from Hawaii.
Thailand - Bangkok 3 days
Laos - Vientiane 2 day
Laos - Luang Phabang 3 days
Vietnam - Hanoi 5 days
Vietnam - Hue 2 day
Vietnam - Hoian 4 days
Vietnam - Danang 2 day
Thailand - Bangkok 4 days
Should I add another place in Cambodia?
We have been to Bangkok previously and stayed at JW Marriott and ShangriLa Hotels.
Thank you in advance for your advice.
Do we fly from BKK to Vietiane, Fly to Luang Phabang and return to Vietiane before fly to Hanoi? Is this the best route? Thank you!

IMO drop Vientiane (I've been there and it is missable given your choices) and DEF do Siem Reap, Cambodia. With your itinerary it fits in well and it would be a shame to miss it. Further the weather is ideal for the temples when you are planning your visit. To do justice to the temples you need at least 3 days so you can cut one out of Hanoi. If you do Siem reap before Luang Prabang you can use your time in Laos to recover as the temples are always tiring.

Bangkok Air has a flight from Bangkok to Luang Prabang. You might want to check out their Heritage Pass, as it flies to a number of places on your list (Luang Prabang, Siem Reap, and Hue).

In my opinion you could easily drop a day from Hoian. If you are looking for a place to chill out and catch your breath Hoian is a place you could do it but there isn't all that much to see and it is HEAVILY touristed. If you go to Cambodia go to Siem Reap and visit Angkor Wat.
