Islands of the Philippines

We are looking for a quiet beach vacation, decent accommodation, good food, great beach - we love swimming in the ocean and snorkeling - following our hectic trip to China in early April. We were in Cebu last year, further down the island and loved it.
This time we are looking at Palawan, Boracay or Bohol. Thank you

Palawan is much more upscale than Borecay, it all depends on your budget for resorts.

Palawan is closer than Boracay. You can actually take a Ferry from Roxas Blvd in Manila to Palawan or you can always use PAL (Philippine Airlines) domestic, which is cheap.

Thank you to both of you.
Any recommendations for a hotel please?
At least ****, good beach, good food?
Thanks for your help.

For Bohol, check out Alona Palm Beach, Ananyana resort or Bohol Beach club. For Palawan: El Nido Lagen, El Nido Minoloc or Club Noah. Boracay has lots of hotels depending on whether you want to stay in the busier or more quiet part of the island. Check out tripadvisor, they have some pictures of these hotels. Good Luck!

I don't think Borecay really has any true 4 star properties- check out the pics on Asiahotels.com- I would say they are in the 3 star category- more lux on Palawan.

Thank you to all. Will check out the suggestions, and will probably need an opinion again.

If you're going to Boracay, try SeaAir or Asian Spirit. Shorter travel time over-all for you just 35 minutes. Instead of landing in Kalibo, you'll land in Caticlan which then is a ten minute ride to the ferry. The ferry is the only way across to the island of Boracay. If you land in Kalibo, it is still an hour and a half to two hours ride to the ferry station.

We had a wonderful honeymoon on the secluded island of Boayan ,Palawan
....We still love to travel though and have
recently returned from a trip to Anguilla, in the British West Indies.
It was very small and charming, a true Caribbean experience.
The beaches were exquisite, but nothing quite ever matches Boayan

For Boracay, check out fridays at the end of white beach so its quiet. The rest on the nice part of white beach woth looking at are Seawind, Waling waling and White House

I had a great holiday in Palawan last year particularly El Nido, very relaxing, very laid back people.

I think there are a few resort options in the El Nido area.
