Thanks, HT. How did I miss that? The lettering must have been too large...

HT,

I'm a "retired" marlin fisherman but if the GTG is held in Kona at the right month then I'll come out of retirement for a day.

146# Yellowfin is a nice size tuna! The trouble with Kona is that there are too many boats when the marlins are around. Still worth it to be on the water though.

Carol and any other mainlanders, I just purchased our tickets, $463 pp, and we each had a certificate for $200 off because the new entertainment system wasn't working on our NRT-BKK leg in November. I can't remember the last time I flew RT to Hawaii for $263! Now is the time to shop for those flights.

ht- I guess I didn't catch this when you posted last week. Thanks for the restaurant recommendation - looks awesome. And I'm glad you think the Kauai Coast Resort is a winner.

Wow, Kathie. You got a great deal!! Good for you!!! I've been looking at flts, but the prices have not been quite that good... and then, we fly out of PIA, so that adds a bit to the cost. Anyway, I'll have a look.

I've not looked at fares for about a week, as I'm in Switzerland right now, and my computer time is more limited. Hope I get a good deal. Planning to be in HNL!!!

My ticket is now booked for Sept 5-12... one week in HNL!! I thought that a price under $900 was a fair deal. Now I hope the prices don't take a sudden dive...

See you all in HNL in September. (I'm sure Brad will have his ticket before too long)

That fantastic Carol! Have you seen the movie just out on Fri about Princess Kaiulani? Don't know if its playing in your town.

This year we may be having a defensive travel night with Ken volunteering to teach us all his ninja rope climbing and other necessary skills so we are all well prepared for any events in our future travels, lol

On a more serious note we are diligently putting together the venue(s) for the gtg and will announce them in the true Hawaiian Time.

Can't wait to see you all in HNL!

Aloha!

Anyone else planning to be in HNL for this GTG?
I'm working on my res's but have already changed them twice! Thank goodness there is time to work it all out.
Looking forward to September in HNL.

HT, when are you and Linda going to BKK? Ken, when will you be there? What about last 2 wks of July?

Sorry for jumping in one more time... ressies are now DONE. No more changes! 3 nts Courtyard on Royal Hawaiian Av, 2 nts BI at Marriott Waikoloa, 2 nts Marriott Waikiki Resort. Marriott should love me! Actually, I've got 'gold' status (not sure why) and I'm going to try hard to keep it for a while.

Carol, we where planning on being back to BKK in Nov but new plans evolved and now we are planning to be there in winter 2011. It seems Ken is there every other month now but that may just be the jealous me thinking out loud, lol

Bad news is that the slow economy has claimed another victim. This time it was the Sake Street Restaurant our prime choice for this years gtg but no fears there are a plethora of venues available in town and one will be secured.

Good idea about the Marriott's. If you are going to do it, you might as well enjoy status and extra perks while doing so is what I always say, lol. See you soon!

Aloha!

Sorry to hear about our Sake place, but I know there are lots of other choices. You guys in HNL always do a good job of selecting nice venues. We leave it up to you!

Winter 2011... does that mean the end of that year or, the Jan-Mar 2011 timeframe? I think we will be in BKK in Dec-Jan, but will have to go home by about Jan 3, 2011. If it is at the end of 2011, we might cross paths, as I would probably be there from mid-December to early Jan 2012. (Can you tell, we like spending our holidays in BKK)

Re: Marriott... I'm not sure how/why I got gold elite status, but I loved the treatment we got at the Marriott in Pattaya this last new years visit!! I want a repeat!!

See you before you know it!
