trying to go from phuket to bangkok and all the flights are sold out on the day i need to leave - any other airline suggestions

There is also a relatively new airline called Phuket Air. I believe they fly that route as well.

Just to confirm what everyone else has said, Bangkok Airways 4 x day with new Boeing 717's, Phuket Air once or tweice a day, 737-200's (yes, still flying)

As a last resort, you could also drive an hour and a half to Krabi airport for a direct flight to BKK.
