Is Dalat worth a visit?

I'd like to know your thoughts on visiting Dalat - is it worth it for 3-4 days - Myself and 2 teenage daughters - seems like there are adventure tours type stuff, national park and traditional villages. How good is it so we can decide or are there better alternatives in December.

Recommendations of places to stay there?

Me and the Mrs have got 5 nights in Dalat kicking off on 4 September. Really looking forward to the place.
Flying in from HCMC with Vietjet. Bus transfer from airport @ 40K dong each
Staying at Dreams Hotel, budget but comfortable and well recommended.
What will we be doing? Nothing set in stone yet. Will wander round on day 1, and see what's what.
Flying to Danang after our 5 nights.

It is many years since I was last in Dalat but I recall it being a pleasant enough place but whether it is worth 3-4 days depends on how long you have got in total in the country. There are certainly loads of outdoor activities there but the weather will probably be cold December so go prepared. Also check out any tour operators carefully as some are much better than others in Vietnam.

Lots of other places reasonably close by - Pleiku etc. that don't often get mentioned but are worth a visit.

I spent several days in Dalat and found it to be a great place to unwind and relax..beautiful scenery, no heavy traffic, and very good food. There is a very large produce and fish market in town which made for great photos. Despite liking Dalat, I think 2 full days there would be enough.

Dat Lat is nice place to visit while traveling to Vietnam. Cool temperature and nice landscape. You can choose to do a bit of trekking, or visiting the city. Biking is really great to explore Da Lat. Da Lat Mountain Town Hotel can be good choice at the middle range

Just left Dalat this morning after 5 nights. No complaints from me.

Walked a lot, sat watching the world go by a lot, sought refuge and drank a lot whenever it rained. The town is quite hilly, and if you want to get lost it's easy as the roads lead off in all directions.

There a beautiful and tranquil monastery v.close to the cable car station, and also a big lake a few minutes walk away. Busy at weekends I expect, but quiet and peaceful during the week.

Definitely a crazy place, make sure you've got a head for heights.

Flew to Dalat from Saigon with Vietjet, and then onward to Danang with Vietnam Airways. There's a bus shuttle from Dalat Airport, cost 40,000 dong. I was hoping the shuttle would drop us at our hotel (Dreams), but it dropped us a 10 minute walk away and at the mercy of any touts we bumped into on the way.

Dreams Hotel was v.good, and their included breakfast excellent and very sociable.
