is brunei worth it?

hello, while being in south east asia and especially Malaysia, do you think Brunei is worth visiting? any other suggestions apart from Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand? thanx

Depends on what you want. If you use it as a transit to East Malaysia's natl parks then it is interesting. But Brunei itself offers not much..unless you like deserted theme parks (Jerudong) and lonely grand opulent hotels (Empire Hotel).

What are you interested in? How much time do you have? Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand have enough to keep you busy for months of travel. If you want to sample something else, there's always Angkor Wat in Cambodia, Luang Prabang in Laos, VietNam, Burma... You could add Angkor Wat or Luang Prabang with 5 days or a week, VN or Burma you should have at least two weeks each.

I'm recently back from Luang Prabang (loved it!). You can see photos of this trip and last year's trip to Angkor at www.marlandc.com

Without wishing to seem negative there simply isn't really anything there to see or do. Very boring. Very strict!
