Ipod touch charger or just adaptor plug in vietnam laos and cambodia

In using an ipod touch 3rd generation in vietnam laos and cambodia do you need a converter or just an adaptor plug?

You can charge your ipod by using the supplied USB cord and usually that comes with a wall plug converter too. Either plug it into a computer(USB) or use the supplied(multi voltage) converter and attached the USB to that. You can find adaptor plug easily or you can just borrow one the hotel you're staying at as usually they all have them.

Apple dont supply an AC adaptor with Ipod models, just the USB cord. You can purchase a adaptor with the SEA plug and an USB input at most asian markets/shops.

You don't say where you live, but if it's in Europe the two-pin plug that came with your USB cable will fit both types of Vietnamese socket. Any other type of plug will require an adaptor.

I've bought Ipods and Iphone from the States and have used them all over Asia with the "plug" or converter. The unit is multi voltage so it will work in Vietnam as well as other countries.

I meant to say that you don't need to bring an extra voltage converter just use the little Apple "plug".

I have the same question and I want to be sure I understand the answer. I live in the US and have only used the plug adaptor when charging an Ipod from a wall outlet in Europe. Will this also work in Vietnam? Thanks!

You just need to check that the back of the charger. If it says something like "input: 100V~240 VAC" or "Input: 120V~240V", you only need to have a plug adaptor that will allow your plug to fit in their outlet.

If it does NOT have the multiple inputs listed, you need to check that your unit matches their power! I plugged a Kodak camera that only took 120V into a Cambodian 240V outlet. It sizzled and smoked, never to charge again!
