Internet in SE Asia

We will be travelling in Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, with approx. two weeks in each country. We will take an Ipad. We can perhaps get WIFI in hotels/bars, but would prefer to have our own internet. Is it practical to buy a data card for internet in each country? Is there a service that would work in all these countries? Thanks for any advice on this.

Go sign up with T-Mobile. Their plans include unlimited data & text in almost al countries. I have been very happy with my service in all those countries (except Myanmar). T-Mobil doesn't require contracts, so if you want to quit after your trip you can.

in Vietnam, it's easy to get 3G/4G sim card on the streets with 3Gb data for 2 dollars per month. After you've used up the data, the speed is limited but you can watch hd movies without any bufferings

Thailand is contemplating requiring all new SIM card buyers to 'face-scan' for identity purposes. The govt there is creeping closer daily to chinese-style greatwall type blockage as Thai military govt (read:dictator) abhors any criticism.

Note that this notion is not yet in effect but may come soon.

Thanks. Ref. T Mobile, I dont see any option on their website that gives unlimited internet in Asia. I seems that I have to do Pay as you go, or Monthly and then do add ons for each of the countries we are going to. That could get quite expensive? We are in the UK.
