Internet in China

Does anyone have any knowledge of what websites could be "blocked" in China? I am relying upon my U.S. bank's (WaMu) "bill pay online" while I am in China over the early part of November.

why not pre-pay using the website before you leave home....that's what i do....then you do not need to worry...

wa-mu.....didn't he die??

Yeah, well that would be assuming my Assistant gets the rents & deposits them a day before I schedule the payments. If someone is late, or she is slow, it could be a problem.
Good idea, though. It may be better than assuming the website is available.
WaMu, not dead, just injured in battle, resucitated by Morgan/Chase. :)

To access any website from China, familiarize yourself with the idea of a proxy server, or with the application known as TOR.

But it is indeed simpler to plan ahead as far as possible, as suggested, and unwise absolutely to depend on access to a particular site.

I don't know what a proxy server or TOR is. I will have to research
