Input on staying the Banyan Tree or Trisara while in Phuket?

We plan to split our time between Banyan Tree and Trisara while in Phuket. Only because we couldn’t decide between the two. Is this a good idea or does anyone have a better suggestion accommodations?

I have not stayed at the Trisara but have stayed a few times at the Banyan Tree. Both are not that far from each other but the Trisara is on a higher elevation and should offer better sea view.

If you are only going to stay 1 night at each place then I don't think it's worth changing. However, if you have a few nights at each then go for it.

Do you recommend any particular villas at BT since you've stay there a few times before?

We were there 2 years ago and also were struggling to choose between Banyan Tree and Trisera. We ended up choosing Trisera as we only had 4 nights in total and in comparing the two, it seemed that Trisera was newer and more private. Perhaps your approach will work really well as the two resorts definitely seem to have a different feel. I only know from pictures of BT but it seemed more like a large scale golf resort and was quite close to other resorts which could be good or bad depending on your view. We wanted to feel more secluded so went for Trisera and loved it!

It is basically staggered up a hillside so you feel quite private in your pool villa (which was gorgeous). The staff were so nice and patient as they taught us small bits of Thai and by the second day, there were several of the restaurant and general staff that would jokingly stop and wait for my clumsy "Sawatdee Kaa".

It was quite remote from a restaurant perspective but we did day trips two of the days with drivers arranged by the resort which were great so ate out on those days and the others we ate at the resort restaurant which was very good.

Thanks NorCal_Jo for your input, my only concern is the Trisera villas may be small in comparison based on other feedback. I’m sure Trisera will be great! We are spending 3 nights at each property so I will post my review when we return.

Hello! I find myself in the same situation....trying to decide between Trisara and Banyan Tree! After having stayed at both, which did you prefer? Also, any tips on special, specific room requests? Thanks in advance!!
