Do a search on this board. Someone posted a trip report within the last year (I think theirs was a business trip as well).

I was there in the 1997, so my perspective is probably pretty dated.
But Bangladesh was a very difficult country to travel through. Imagine one of the poorer regions of India and quadruple the population density. I was traveling with my girlfriend at the time who was blonde. A tall blonde woman obviously stood out in the crowds there, but she was continually molested by the stay hands of passersby when we were walking on the streets - even when I was walking right beside her! And this was in a relatively good district of urban Dhaka! It's been 10 years since I was there, so I can only hope that it has improved. |
We met a chap in India who had travelled through Bangladesh he said it was a very difficult place to travel as very few people travel there and so very little provision for or experience with travellers outside the capital. IHopefully you'll have no problem in Dhaka but it certainly isn't a familiar destination.

It would be a business fair in Dhaka but I am unsure its even worth the trip. I don't want to be a prisoner in my hotel but...I hate having to rely on people to go outside the door. I am quite fair and do stick out in India anyway :-) Thanks all for advice and info. I did not find anything when I did a search but will check again. I am mostly on the Euro board.Cheers S
