There are plenty of places to take cooking courses. Your big task is to decide where you are going with just 10 days.

There are countless Indian cooking demonstrations on YouTube already. Get familiar with the dishes and commonly used spices so that you can get more out of any cooking classes you take.

There is a great variation of how each dish is prepared - whether by geographic region, city, or family. No matter who you learn from, the next person will not make the same dish the same way.

With so few days in India as it is, it might be a waste to use one of the days for cooking.

Hi Kathie and all - we regrouped last night and adjusted our itenery! Sliced it in half and feel much more comfortable! Your advice is very valuable! Our 10 days will be spent in the Golden Circle and up to Varanasi!!

Amalia, Try Delhi B&B for the cooking lessons. We stayed with these folks, as did my daughter when she was traveling in India by herself, and they were wonderful:

You don't have to stay with them to take the lessons.

For more info on some of the places you want to go, you may want to review my trip report from a couple of years ago:

And I highly recommend Ramesh Meena for a car and driver -- we've used him for two long trips and found him to be extremely safe, reliable and professional, and I know many others on this forum have been very pleased with his services as well:

Amalia, if you take a class specify, in advance, if you want to learn only vegetarian dishes or if meat dishes are ok too.
