For your iPhone: We encountered every kind of outlet in India - two-pin mainland Europe (not UK) outlets, standard US three-pin outlets, and outlets for larger Indian two-pin plugs.

We brought a small power strip for all our devices plus a European plug which we didn't have to use everywhere.

All hotels offer adapters and they are for sale everywhere, even in markets, for pennies.

For your hair dryer: This might be another story and require an adapter.

Correction: Your hair dryer might need a converter.
