Kathie,I wish we had the same experience as you did at PTI. I always take your recs very seriously. Probably the key was that you got dishes off the menu. What we had was just very ordinary. We were the only ones in the restaurant and it had a kind of musty/mouldy odor altho they were certainly quite friendly.
Hroark - - have a wonderful trip. We really loved the E&O and Penang. I wish we'd had more time there.

Alas, too bad, DC. After I posted the above, it occurred to me that the difference was special off the menu dishes.

For a hole in the wall that has great tandoori, try Hammedia. Kuranosuke recommended it to us. Nothing fancy, but excellent tandoori (really, that's all they serve). Just don't embarrass yourself by trying to order a beer. The owner is Muslim, so no alcohol.
