immunizations needed?
 

Hi all,
My husband and I are going to Vietnam and Bangkok in January 2008. Do we need any immunizations for that trip?

Check the CDC website under traveler information. I looked a few days ago for our trip and they recommend the typical Hep A, Hep B, thyphoid, etc. The one that surprised me and that I need to check on further is the recommendation for a polio booster if you haven't had one in a while (try something like 50 years :-P!). No malaria concerns in Thailand that I could see, but we willprobably need that for Cambodia. The website for them is:

Check with your doctor about a Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) injection.

I'm going to Bangkok next month and I got Hep A, Hep B, Polio, and Typhoid, they said I didn't NEED it, but it was recommended, so I got them. Don't know about Vietnam. They said any place that is a general tourist area is usually safe, but any areas near the borders of the surrounding countries it was needed. Good Luck, have fun!
