Hyatt credit card sign up to get 2 free nights to use in Asia. HELP!

I am sure I read somewhere that if I sign up for a Hyatt cc( which one?) I can get 2 free nights at a Hyatt ( after a spend of$1000). 2 questions is this available to a UK resident and I want to be able to redeem the 2 nights in Tokyo at the Park Hyatt is this possible? Ok question 3 are there black out dates?

Smeagol Feb 14th, 2013 11:06 AM

Omg spell check.. That should say do you mean there are NO black out dates......

hawaiiantraveler Feb 14th, 2013 11:22 AM

Sorr, it means no black out dates and yes you can use at the PH in Tokyo or any other Hyatt property in Japan. I think the only one you can't use it at is the one of the Hyatt's in Paris.

Aloha!

One letter keeps dropping out....

Smeagol we would love to meet up with you too but will not be in BKK this year after Japan, Linda has to get back to work and we can only take so much of Bob at one time ;)

I applied for this - have not heard back yet. Will use it for Hyatt Kyoto, and encourage Jeane to apply also so most of our stay will be covered. I am concerned that we already have a bevy of Chase credit cards associated with United MP...

rhkkmk Feb 14th, 2013 01:50 PM

poor chase, fodorites taking advantage again... haha

at least i have a pal in linda...

DonTopaz Feb 14th, 2013 02:22 PM

You can use the 2 free nights at any Hyatt (including any Park Hyatt), as long as a "standard room" is available for sale on the date you want. No problem at PH Tokyo. (The problem with the Park Hyatt Vendome in Paris is that the hotel has only a very few standard rooms, so availability can be limited.)

In many cases, you'll be approved instantly. If you haven't heard after 7-10 days, call Chase (call their general credit card number) and they'll be able to straighten it all out on the phone. If you have several Chase cards, you might need to rearrange your credit lines on other cards -- very good chance that's what's holding up your application, Craig.

who is going to get the refer-a-friend bonus?

Smeagol Feb 14th, 2013 10:05 PM

Is there a refer a friend bonus? Ok I will see if I can get this as it does make sense given how expensive the Park Hyatts are ( and even if we can't use there I have already got 3 Hyatts lines up for this trip so I am sure I could use at one of those)

DonTopaz Feb 15th, 2013 05:05 AM

No, there is no refer-a-friend bonus for this card. (Though I'm suspicious about people with non-U.S. addresses being able to get the card. Smeagol, if you do apply, could you give some feedback on that?)

Smeagol is from Nurn, the southern part of Mordor where the inland Sea of Helcar had been, and that the Sea of Rhûn and Sea of Núrnen were its remnants. Basically she's from somewhere in New Jersey and does have a U.S. postal code address.

<<<If you have several Chase cards, you might need to rearrange your credit lines on other cards -- very good chance that's what's holding up your application, Craig.>>>

I have four Chase cards (United, British Air, Southwest, Hyatt). When I applied for the later ones, they called me to rearrange my credit lines. It wasn't a problem. (We used all 4 nights - 2 of mine and 2 of my husband's, at the Grand Hyatt Kauai).

Kathie Feb 15th, 2013 08:01 AM

I applied for the card at the end of January, planning to use two free nights in Kyoto. I had not heard back, and after reading Don's message, figured that the multiple credit lines were the problem as I have two other Chase cards. I called the Chase number of the Hyatt card today and the automated system told me my card was approved and I should be receiving it soon. If you want to call, Craig, here is the number: 800-679-8403

Craig Feb 15th, 2013 12:10 PM

Thanks, Kathie for the phone number. Chase was not in a hurry to approve me, but we did indeed shift some credit lines around, once I got a hold of an "advisor". I should be receiving my card within 5-7 business days.
