if a short river trip suits your needs take one of the boats at PP riverside. They are carrying you around the 3 big rivers for 1 hour or longer. Its not bad and inexpensive too.
Havent seen the floating village yet, but following the words of a buddy it is nothing special. If you have more time on your next trip better go to Mekong delta in Vietnam.

Phuket over Hua-Hin.! I wouldn't change my few days every year at Chiva-Som for any place in Thailand.

take a look at koh samui as an alternative to phuket....
