I always call or email my hotel and ask them what they recommend. They may volunteer an option that isn't apparent because maybe they will pick you up from a different station than the ones that look the most direct.

This is one of many options presented by asking Google:

Search: Narita to Fuji Kawaguchiko
depart at 11/21/17 6:32 PM

Click on the little train, then choose your date and time. (I'd add in about 2 hours from your estimated arrival at Narita.) Read over the options such as cost, length of trip, number of transfers or number of changes in transport such as walking, taxi, bus, etc.rom one type of transport (walk, train, taxi, bus, etc., and choose the one that seems best.

Here's just one google route for Nov 21 at 6:30 pm:
4 h 5 min 6:36 PM - 10:41 PM

6:47 PM from Narita Station ¥2,940
6:36 PM Narita, Chiba Prefecture, Japan

Walk
0.5 mi (11 mins)
6:47 PM Narita Station
Narita Line 快速 towards Yokosuka
8:04 PM Tokyo Station

Walk
0.2 mi (5 mins)
8:20 PM Tokyoekiyaesuguchi
東京~河口湖・山中湖 towards 河口湖駅行
10:22 PM Kawaguchikoeki

Walk
0.9 mi (20 mins)
10:41 PM Fujikawaguchiko, Minamitsuru District, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan

Good advice from lcuy about contacting the hotel and checking their website for directions.

You wrote"FujiKawaguchiko", but where exactly are you going? I might be misunderstanding what you mean by that but will assume that you are going to Kawaguchiko station.

The rail route to Kawaguchiko is basically this:
1) Narita Airport to JR Shinjuku
2) Shinjuku to Otsuki on JR limited express Azusa or Kaiji
3) Otsuki to Kawaguchiko on Fujikyu Railway

You could take the Narita Express or a limo bus to get to Shinjuku station. Or take Keisei Skyliner to Nippori and then Yamanote Line to Shinjuku.

You should consider the JR Tokyo Wide Pass, depending on your travel plan. I think it covers the Fukikyu train.

There is probably a bus from Shinjuku to Kawaguchiko.

Take a look at the link below to see your rail travel options. Route4 is the simplest one.

I suggest that you take the schedule for the limited express and Fujikyu trains. Click on "Interval timetable" to get a popup with the schedule.

You will see that the last Fujikyu train is at 23:10. That means that the last train from Shinjuku that you could take to Otsuki would be at 22:00 arriving 23:04. Which means that you have 6 hours to get from the plane to the train at Shinjuku. So, you will make it to Kawaguchiko that night (probably by 8PM or 9PM).

Thanks Icuy and mrwunrfl for your advise. My answer to mrwunrfl, to be specific I need to go to Fuji Premium Resort at Kawaguchiko.

That link I gave was to Fujikyu Highland. You can use the link below for Kawaguchiko. Note that the time for the search is 4:50PM.

You've got another 5km to go from Kawaguchiko station to your lodging and they do provide a shuttle:
http://www.fujipremiumresort.com/directions.htm

On their FAQ page they say that the front desk closes at 11PM (hotels dot com said 10PM). You definitely will need to notify them of your arrival time.

The Narita Express to Kawaguchiko and the Fujikyu/Keisei highway buses from NRT depart in the morning. There might be a JR bus but I can't find schedule info.

I see that "FujiKawaguchiko" is the town/machi where the hotel is located, Fujikawaguchiko-machi.

Here is the correct link:

For some reason I have been unable to post comments to the forum the last couple of days. Not sure why because I have always been a member in good standing.

Unless you HAVE to be in Kawaguchiko that first evening, I would recommend you spend the night in either Narita town or in Tokyo and then head out the next morning. By the time you land and clear customs, it will be after 5:00 and nearly dark. Plus unless you are coming from Asia, you will likely be jet lagged.

MinnBeef makes a good point. On arrival day you would have another 3.5 to 4 hours of travel to deal with, presumably after a long haul intl flight. Your flight could be delayed.

If you stay overnight in Narita or at an airport hotel then you could take the highway bus direct from the airport to Kawaguchiko. Your hotel wants reservations for their shuttle and you would be able to give them an accurate arrival time on the 22nd. You'd probably save a few yen in hotel cost for that night.

The bus travel time is good and so is the price. Departure time is 10:35 from T2 and arrival is 14:10, for 3300 JPY if you book in advance (or 4400 if you buy it after 5PM on the 21st).

Here is the bus info:
https://www.narita-airport.jp/en/acc...r_and_bus/fuji

You can get bus reservations online. Use the Japan Bus Lines link on the webpage above or go here; http://japanbuslines.com/en/

Your departure prefecture is Chiba and your arrival prefecture is Yamanashi.

Hi everyone, I'm back from my Japan trip! I'd like to share my experience how I travel to Kawaguchiko, a different way compared to any of the suggestions above, my friend got me this info from the Narita information counter.

(1) Exit Narita Airport arrival hall and turn left to counter number 7 to buy Keisei bus ticket to Tokyo Station (¥1,000 ; Departure time 1650 ; Arrival time 1715). Note: The bus will stop at the roadside opposite Tekko Building. You can find FamilyMart on your way to the traffic light before you cross over to Tekko building.

(2) Cross the road to opposite building (Tekko building) and the bus counter is just next to the main entrance. There will be 1 or 2 officer standing near the small counter at one of the pillar. Ticket can be purchase either via online booking for by cash. I got mine by cash, paid ¥1,800 directly the staff for ticket to Kawaguchiko (Departure time 1820 ; Arrival time 2015).

Total time taken from Narita Airport to Kawaguchiko station is slightly more than 3 hours, consider the best option with very little walking require to transfer between stations. Note: I traveled with a hand carry luggage size 22 inch and a sling bag.

Hope this info is useful for others in the future. Happy travelling! =>

Thanks, will pass it on.

Departure time 1650 ; Arrival time 1715

??? Those times would mean that the Keisei bus travels from Narita Airport to Tokyo station in 25 minutes. The bus would have to travel at about 104 mph to do that.

Yes, mrwunrfl, I was surprised at that speed also - I took an airport limousine once from TCAT to NRT but it was very early in the morning - don't remember how long it took....but the schedule says an hour and TCAT is closer to NRT than Tokyo Station, I think....
