How to rent car in Taiwan?
 

I am going to travel to Taiwan soon. I want to rent a car there so I can visit the destination as I like. Can everyone share your experience of renting a car there for me?

I will stay in Taipei for 5 days, then move to Taichung and Tainan, each staying for about 3 days.

I rented from AVIS in Hualien which was a pretty painless experience. They will have outlets in Taipei I and sure. Despite reading lots of horror stories about driving in Taiwan, it was all very straightforward and I would definitely do it again.

Personally, I wouldn't drive in Taipei. I ride a motorbike outside of Taipei, but traffic in the city is pretty crowded. I've been in two accidents while a passenger in a taxi in Taipei.
