The way our itinerary is working out, we will have 5 nights to spend in Agra and Jaipur, which means 3 nights in one place and 2 in the other.

My question for those who've experienced the two cities: which one is most deserving of 3 nights?

Not sure I'm experienced enough to say (one visit to each place), but I think I'd give more to Jaipur. It's a great city with some blockbuster sights and easy to manage.

I've been to both. Jaipur deserves more time than Agra, but there is lots to do in both places. Have a great trip.

I agree -- Jaipur would be better with three nights, but make sure you give Agra sufficient time. You could spend at least two full days at the Taj Mahal and visiting some of the surrounding sites, including Fatehpur Sikri.
The Taj Mahal is amazing both under a full moon and at dawn. Try to do both if you can.

Jaipur is the most deserving place for three nights.You can visit many places in Jaipur though Agra is mainly for Taj Mahal.
Hope You njoy your trip a lot.....u can also visit Delhi if You consider about the golden triangle tours of India

for sure more time in jaipur.. 2 nights is perfect for agra imo.. it takes 2/3 of one day to drive from one city to the other..

I was prepared to book 3 nights in Agra and 2 in Jaipur when it occurred to me others may know better. I'm glad I asked! Three nights in Jaipur it is.
