How to choose the best retreats in India

Dear friends,

I have two months to spend in India, January and February. I'd like to focus on just one region and design my trip around retreats. They don't have to be yoga, I'm just interested in all experiences spiritual/transformative, health and wellbeing such as ayurvedic treatments welcome too. I'm quite overwhelmed by the well recommended places on here and not sure how to choose and how to discern between the places that have become too commercialised. I'm flexible with both comfort level and budget, just want an authentic experience.

Thank you!
Weiwei

I would suggest researching on Bhakti Kutir in Palolem, Goa and see if that matches your desires.
