How to book Vietnam Airlines domestic flights

We are wondering the best way to book internal Vietnam flights on Vietnam Airlines. We need to book in advance (can't wait until we are there due to our dates), but are wondering how to do this. Has anyone booked flights?

Which route you want to take?

Sorry. I booked mine when I arrived and had no problems. I only booked internal flights the day before I needed them, and never had any trouble. It was less expensive booking them in Vietnam that it would have been had I booked them in advance in Australia. It also allowed me to be more flexible.

I should add that, with the benefit of knowledge, I would have no hesitatation booking them in advance using www.vietnamstay.com which I used for accommodation. They were excellent.

That's true.
Booking airticket when u are in Vietnam is much cheaper. Howeverm should book in advance, sicne these days, all flights are full for the APEC and other meetings.

APEC will be over next week, so unless you're coming then, you should be fine. I just booked a flight to Hanoi 11/22-11/26 and had multiple options for flights.

Yesterday morning, about 9:40AM, I booked a flight from HCMC to Hanoi. Got the ticket at the Saigontourist desk at the Sheraton Saigon. He could not book any flights that were scheduled for departure in less than 4 hours.

Departure time was 2PM and the business class cabin of the 777 was half empty. Was $135 in biz class, about $90 in coach.

Hi Wintertravel,

Vietnam airlines will launch Online Booking service in the early of 2007, but if you cant wait until then, you can book with some online travel agents in Vietnam : Vietnamstay.com or iViVu.com - the website with a lot of information on Vietnam domestic flights including routes, flight time and price...ect.

P/S: the airfares normally included 20,000 VND for Airport-tax.

Enjoy your stay in Vietnam.
