For some reason, that flight won't book with the discovery pass, you'll have to buy it separately.

Did they say the flight was full or did not have any Discovery pass seats available? I had that happen when I was trying to book a flight to Krabi. The flights showed on the BKK Air site, but it was not available thru the Discovery Pass. I would call again or email them with the request.

They said it just doesn't appear in their system so it's not available for Discovery Air Pass. I can see it in front of me while I talk to them but it doesn't show up in their system.

As I recall when I dealt with the DP, not all flights are available for the pass. I talked with the BKK Air people as well as a couple travel agents when I was purchasing my pass. Can you check with Lao Airlines?

FWIW I had no problems in December booking the Siem Reap to Luang Prabang via Pakse flight on Lao Airlines using the Discovery Pass. I did it all by email.

Yes, I also booked the same flight for travel in 2012 and did it by email.

Interesting. A friend was told that that flight was not bookable on the Discovery Pass. Glad to hear that isn't true.

Bangkok Airways is now telling me that Lao Airlines sometimes doesn't update flight availability for Discovery Passes to the Bangkok Airways booking system. They told me to book the Discovery Pass through Lao Airlines instead of through Bangkok Airways.

The flights LP to SR via Pakse are on mon/wed/fri/sat only and on which the pass can be used (flight QV 513 dep 10.20 and arv 14.20. All other flights are code shared with vietnam airways. Unless things have changed since late 2012 you should be able to book on the pass.

Yes, I checked the QV513 flight here http://www.laoairlines.com/flights/flight-schedule.html. I can see the QV513 flight I want on the Lao Airlines website but they can't see it in their Bangkok Airways computers. The customer rep even went to the Lao Airlines website and saw the flight I wanted and then told me something must be wrong with Lao Airlines. He suggested that I book the Discovery Pass throught them.

I think I found where the mistake is. I looked up the two legs of the flight separately - Luang Prabang (LPQ) to Pakze (PKZ); then Pakze (PKZ) to Siem Reap (REP). The QV513 flight from LPQ to PKZ appears perfectly on the Lao Airlines website. However the QV513 flight from PKZ to REP doesn't not appear on the website. I looked up every other Saturday in the month and all of them have the QV513 flight from LPQ to PKZ and also the PKZ to REP flight. So my problem is just that on my exact date there seems to be an issue with their system where the PKZ to REP does not appear at all. I'm going to talk with Lao Airlines.
