How to book domestic tickets/hotels in Burma.

I will be visiting Burma in January. I'd like to know which websites are good for booking domestic airline tickets and hotels within Burma.

Thanks in advance.

I always use a local agent in Yangon to book hotels and flights. You can book some flights online, but be aware there are scammers who have set up websites that look like the airline sites, but will just take your money and leave you without valid tickets. Those websites are notable for the hyphen in the middle of the airline name. You can book hotels on the usual websites - booking.com, agoda, etc. but I can get a better price from an agent. Beware of websites that purport to book everything for you!

Rather than c&p a very long reply, can I refer you to this on "booking internal flights in Myanmar"
https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowTo...r-Myanmar.html
The only change to the list is AirBagan is no longer running scheduled flights.
Virtually all tourist class hotels are bookable on line through booking.com/Agoda/hotels.com/expedia/asia travel etc etc although I personally find that either booking direct with the hotel or through my Myanmar Agent works for me.

I have used Santa Maria to book my hotels and flights in the past and I also used Agoda when I couldn't get availability elsewhere. Both worked out fine for me.

I also used Santa Maria for flights and hotels. They were terrific and very professional

Thank you for the replies.

Can fodorites please confirm that this is the correct website and company referred to in the previous posts, http://www.myanmartravels.net/

Just want to be certain I'm contacting the right company and there is no confusion.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, that is correct.

If you have not worked with a local agent before, be aware that their first quote is likely to include things you don't want (like a guide or a car and driver). Just tell them what you do/don't want.

Thanks, Kathie.

Can somebody please post an email address for Santa Maria that works. I've tried to contact the company via their website but have had no response.

Thanks.

Here's the email address I used last year: [email protected]

The functionality of websites in Myanmar is lacking, in my experience. Let us know is we can be helpful in other ways.

Many thanks, Kathie. I'll send Santa Maria an email.
