How should I spend my final day in Sri Lanka: Colombo or at the beach
I’mtaking an Intrepid trip thru Sri Lanka in Nov. The trip ends in Colombo. I will be a single female traveling on my day. I will have 36 hours or so to spend in Colombo or at the beach. I would like to splurge a little and spend my final night at a nice hotel and go to a spa before my long trip back to the US. Does anyone have any recs on a nice hotel in Colombo, Negombo or another nearby beach? Is there any reason to spend the day in Colombo? I appreciate everyone’s suggestions

I was seriously underwhelmed by Colombo, which is what I expected. (I was there because my father was stationed there during WWII.) However, if you want a posh hotel, the Galle Face might fit the bill.
