hobbes...
how do you reserve a balloon flight in siem reap? how many people (there are 3 of us) what should we expect to pay? do they fly over the temples? we had no idea that was available...sounds like an awesome way to view the countryside. |
ccc. I would suggest maybe going in the morning so that you can use that day too do the sight seeing.. and cut your trip too 2 full days.. There is nothing too doo in siam reap at night.. its not even considered a major town in cambodia..
if you choose morning flights book early those go fast. I should go too chaing mai.. so that I can post my usuall barely readable rantings. |
Yes, divediva it is an awesome experience. As I said really gives you an amqazing idea of the scale of the main temple i.e. Angkor Wat due the aerial view. Costs $11 per head. Balloons take 30 up at a time. In general they are easily available but the sunrise one sells out fast so ask your guide to go on day 1 to buy u that one if that's what u want to do. Mixed reviews - on clear days it is amazing at sunrise but on not clear days u may not be able to see anything. In any case def go for the ride - we did an evening one, the last one of that day actually and was AWESOME. It is not a ride really, the balloon goes straight up to a heght where u can see Angkor wat in all its splendour then comes down so don't pl expect a tour or circle of the temples or u may come back and want to kick me out of disappointment!

Thanks!! I am 110% convinced that it is not a viable option to go from Angkor Wat to Luang Prabang in a day. I did not know the road conditions or the possible delays at the borders. I will have to decide if I can add 2 days to an already 25 day trip in Thailand and Malysia. Thanks again.

Could you tell me how you organized your flight from Siem Reap to Luang Prabang? Trying to figure out the quickest way there and not getting much success I am afraid!
