You can go to www.hyperdia.com, select English language, put in Hiroshima departure and Tokyo arrival, date and time you want to go, and leave the checkmark for what to search on "shinkansen" only, and it will tell you.
The Shinkansen Nozomi's run directly from Hiroshima to Tokyo in 4 hours but Nozomi's aren't included in the JR pass if you are using one.

BTW, I have been fooling around w/hyperdia this afternoon and the only shinkansen I see from Hiroshima to Tokyo is the nonstop Nozomi, or a Shinakansen Hikari train from Hiroshima to Shin-Osaka, then a Shinkansen Nozomi from Shin-Osaka to Tokyo. That route is only a few min. longer (12 to 15 min) than the direct Nozomi, and if you are using JR pass you could at least use it on the Hikari portion I suppose.

It's 4 hours on a nonstop Nozomi shinkansen or about 4 hr 25 minutes when a connection is involved. You can connect Hikari trains at Shin Osaka as emd mentioned but also at Okayama and probably also at Kyoto.

Your departure station would be Hiroshima station. Your arrival station would be Tokyo station, perhaps, though the shinkansen stop at Shin Yokohama and/or Shinagawa stations before reaching Tokyo station. Those stations may be more useful than Tokyo depending on your destination.

If anyone is interested in where he/she can get from Shin-Yokohama to Tokyo, check www.jnto.com
Go to their "reginal tourist guides" and then to the "oractical tourist guides" and there is is a good list of all trains and subways that go from Yokohama station (which you'd have to get to from Shin-Yokohama station from the Shinkansen) to Tokyo (and vice versa) and what stops in Tokyo they go to.
