How long in Singapore?
My wife and I are planning on visiting Singapore next March. We can't decide on how much time to spend there.
3 or 4 nights? Would appreciate some input. Thanks... |
Did you make a list of places you would like to visit?
I can not how many daays to suggest, depend on what you are interested to see and on how you want to planify your daily visits and rest. I can only say that we were there for 2 days (2 nights) and for us, it was enough - we visited all sightseeings that we were scheduled to do. |
2 days/3 night days is plenty of time.

Hi. Thanks for the responses.
I anticipate we will be visiting Sentosa Island, night safari, Raffles Hotel, Orchard Road, Little India and Chinatown, to name several things. |
4-5 full days. Happy Travels!
|
I would skip Sentosa, spend the minimum- 3 nights.
|
I agree with Guenmai and 4-5 days. Of course, it depends on one's interests, but the zoo and night safari are an excellent combination and take a day. The bird park is another half to 3/4 day. Then Little India, Chinatown, Orchard Road, Sentosa are a couple of days. You may want to do a day trip into Malaysia to Johor or Kukup. And then you need some time for general shopping, seeing the central area sights, etc.
Your tastes will trim this list a bit, but 4 days is a minimum and 6 starts getting too much. |
We only stayed 3 days and found it plenty- sure you could stay 4,5 days, but most people find that 3 days are plenty to do the highlights. If this is your only destination then I say stay as long as you like/can affod etc. If you are fitting in other destinations - then I say 3 is enough.

Why rush through it if one has the extra time to spend? It's a VACATION! Plus in those extra days, they might get to meet and chat with Singaporeans who are delighful people.I love chatting with the small shop owners which one can't rush through. Happy Travels!

We stayed 4 nights and then 1 night on the way back..It was just right, although I could have stayed longer..After the long flight from Canada it was sure nice to veg out for a few days before heading off to Thailand for the remainder of our holiday.I loved the Night Safari and the Bird Park especially..Went to Sentosa Island..It was a nice day, but the most exciting part was taking the cable car from Mt. Faber..
Have fun!! |
For a first visit, I'd recommend 4 nights. There is plenty to do in Singapore, and, as someone said, if it's your first stop in Asia you'll appreciate some extra time to acclimate to the time and the heat.
Some of my favorite places in Singapore: The Asian Cultural Museum (both locations), the Botanical Gardens (don't miss the orchid garden), Raffles hotel and their small museum, the zoo and /or the Jurong bird park, shopping and the fabulous food. Personally, I wouldn't recommend Sentosa. |
What will you be doing with the 4th night if you do not spend it in S'pore? I would skip Sentosa. I find it child oriented.
|
We appreciate all the feedback.
Technically, this will be our 1st time to Singapore. I was there a long time ago as a kid and don't remember much. Singapore will be part of a 3-week trip to SE Asia. The most number of nights we can spend in Singapore is 4 nights. We may skip Sentosa. Would 3 nights be kind of tight? We prefer not to be rushed at a destination. Thanks... |
I would say yes three nights is plenty- look you could always find things to do almost anywhere to stretch it out to 4, 5 , 6 nights etc. The point here is where else are you going and in the context of your total vacation how many days is right to devote to Singapore.
For example if you asked people to split say 7 days between Bangkok and Singapore- most, if not all, people would advise you to spend 4 days in Bangkok and 3 in Sing. There is far more to do and see in Bangkok than in Sing. So you see it goes back to where else you will be visiting. |
I would say 4 days in Singapore. The great eating, alone, merits 4 days! Happy Travels!
