How long does mail from Cambodia take ?
On November 28 we mailed 14 postcards at the Phnom Penh International Airport.
I.e. handed them over to the clerk in the Post Office who confirmed there was enough postage.
Until now none of the addressees in Europe have received their postcard.
What's your experience with mail from Cambodia ?

When we were in Cambodia for a while, my wife sent postcards to her niecesin the UK who collect them. As I recall the did take a very long time, probably a couple of months, but they did arrive eventually.

I sent a postcard from my office last February. I forget exactly when it arrived, but it was sometime in August or September. We all got a good laugh as I was preparing for my next trip back to Cambodia when it came.

If you send a postcard (with the postcard rate) it takes FOREVER. If you put the postcard in an envelope and pay about 30 cents more, it arrives in about two weeks.
Also at the Siem Reap post office they are known for steaming off your stamps and throwing your postcards away, so you should ask them to please frank your mail while you are standing there.

We mailed three on January 22 from our hotel in Siem Reap. As of today they are still missing as are the ones we mailed in Saigon on January 27. We also mailed from Chiang Mai (1/14), Luang Prabang (1/18) and Hanoi (2/12) and all arrived in a week to 10 days. Go figure!

May be this is why we don't do post cards any more. There is a service called amazing mail. You take a picture, up load it to the site along with your message, and pre entered addresses and for about $1 each your cards are sent. Fabulous quality pictures. Boston Harbor and Bob have been using this service for years. It is nice to have a more personalized postcard.
