How far in advance to get BKK Restaurant reservations

Hello,
I will be in Bangkok for five days. I've been reading everyone's restaurant reviews, they all sound great, but I am wondering if I want to go somewhere popular like Face or Bed Supper Club, will I be able to make reservations when I arrive, or should I try to make reservations a week or 2 before arriving.
Thanks,
Carl

If you want a particular restaurant on a particular evening, I'd shoot for a week or so in advance. If you're flexible on the exact day, then it's less important. We had difficulty getting a reservation Bed Supper Club and Sirocco on the same day we called. Face was easy though.

In August, I got a reservation at Bed about 2-3 days before I went, I think it was. I went on a Friday. But, reserve a week in advance to be sure. Happy Travels!

in advance will give you assurance at almost any place but bed....a day or two usually is enough...same day can be more difficult...

For weekends all 3 i.e. BED, Sirocco and Face sell out fast. Face is probably the easiest of all 3 in some senses but also has the least seating. On week days the early sitting is sometimes available even at short notice i.e. same day. I would suggest you book a couple days for weekdays before to be safe and decide your weekend plans and book. Also, just book stuff then cancel if you change your mind - better that way then the other!

Also depends where you are staying. Last year the Oriental got me a reservation at bed for Dec. 30 one day before. I suspect the Pen could have done the same.
