I'm into prescription drugs ;-) for jet lag.

I had ZERO jet lag on my trip over to India or when I returned two weeks ago. I was gone for over three weeks. Last year I had horrid jet lag for almost two weeks when I returned from China. It was awful.

The difference? A new prescription melatonin drug called Rozerem (ramelteon). It is a brand new drug and is sold as a non addictive sleeping aide. However, there are new studies that focus on jet lag. I am walking proof that it is a remarkable jet lag drug--so is my travel companion who had the same response to the drug.

You can Google :"Rozerem and jet lag"

"Drug Category: Melatonin agonists: Ramelteon (Rozerem) Indicated for insomnia characterized by difficulty with sleep onset.-- Melatonin receptor agonist with high selectivity for human melatonin MT1 and MT2 receptors. MT1 and MT2 are thought to promote sleep and be involved in maintenance of circadian rhythm and normal sleep-wake cycle. " http://www.emedicine.com/neuro/topic655.htm

As far as I am concerned, it is a smashing drug, just smashing. I took it at bedtime for four days upon arrival in India and for four days after I returned. It was like I had traveled in the same time zone.

Disclaimer:

This was my experience with the drug. Everyone responds to drugs differently and all must check with their own physician.
