Hotels in the Niseko ski areas
 

We are thinking of going to Niseko next year with our two kids, and their families. Many years ago (1985), we skied at Niseko. At that time is was a small resort and the only hotels nearby were small Japanese inns. Needless to say, Nisei has grown significantly since then, with many more lifts, various villages with both international hotels and still some small inns. Has anyone here skied there recently? I'm looking for personal tips on the various villages as far as lodging and dining, and ease of getting to the slopes.
We'll have 2 excellent skiers, 3 good skiers, and two kids(4 and 6) who have used lifts to ski on easy hills with their parents. I will not be skiing, so would like to find something to do during the day, even if it involves just having a comfortable lodge to babysit the gear and kids. I'll have lots of good books on my phone!
