If you are going to be undergoing any sort of regular appointments at Bumrungrad Hospital, they the Pen is pretty far away. I'd look at the Majestic Grande or the J W Marriott as they are both much closer to the hospital. Traffic can be a real headache in trying to get to and from Bumrungrad as it is in a very busy location, traffic-wise. It is a superior hospital and people from around the globe go there.

emporiumsuites.com It takes me 10 minutes on a slow traffic day to get to Bumrungrad. Happy Travels!

I forgot to add that Bumrungrad has a free van service that will drop you off right at the Nana skytrain stop.It lets you off right at the bottom of the escalator leading up to the skytrain station. From there it's only two stops to the Prom Phong skytrain station where the Emporium Suites building is...so about 3 minutes. I live in that building while vacationing in BK twice a year. The Prom Phong skytrian station is attached to the Emporium Mall and whole Emporium complex, so once you get off the skytrain, you're home. Just walk through the mall where there's a passage that leads directly to the Emporium Suites. There's also a Bangkok Bangkok Bank and supermarket in the same complex. Total convenience. I would not stay as far away as the Pen and have to commute that long distance to get to Bumrungrad. Hope this has helped. Happy Travels!

does anyone can recomend a great dentist in bangkok

Kathie May 3rd, 2007 11:09 AM

We have used Bumrungrad for dental care with good success. We just asked for an appointment and they assigned us a dentist. We have used the same dentisit since.

I really like Dr. Kulathip (DDS) at Bumrungrad. She's the first dentist I've had with a real personality.

My dentist has a personality, but it's a bad one.

If you do a search here, you will find lots of people have experience staying in apartments in Bangkok. I, for example, have stayed at the Grand President, the Omni Tower, and a very simple but clean place (no pool) called Patumwan House. I will be staying at Somerset Suan Park View in July for my next visit to Bangkok. All of these have been good experiences for me.
