Hotels in Angkor wat

Cant decide on either Shinta Mani or Angkorvillage...Are these near each other and close to town center???Has anybody been to both...Price seems to be close...And need a pool and spa treatments...Any help...please

Angkor Village has a lovely litle pool, but no spa (at least when I was there). Cambodia isn't really the place for spas.

angkor village is an easy walk to the small town....i found its beds to be very uncomfortable and the food to be only fair... i would not stay there again....it is a very attractive place however...

all of the hotels are quite close to town really....some you might not be able to walk to town from however....it is quite a small town...so nothing is very far...

steve---we can't wait to see your trip report!!!

Sinta Mani is GREAT and for the same money I would def choose that. It is near the town center. It has a small pool and a 4 room spa - which is fine considering the hotel is only 18 rooms. I have been recoing the restaurant since we stayed there in Feb and am glad to find other people shared my experience!

We stayed at the Angkor Village which we really enjoyed. Hard beds and all. Very tropical and secluded. Our guide recommended a good place for massages in town. We did make a trip to the Shinta Mani as this place was so highly recommended as well. It's a very nice place, great restaurant with simple elegant rooms. You will like the spa facilities but this was all extra. I have a brochure of their therapies and rates. For $126 U.S. they have a 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. full day programme - aromatherapy floral bath facial, lunch, rest/swimming, slimming body ritual manicure or pedicure. If you have the time to devote one day to all of this, it is definitely worth it after several days of touring the temples. They also have 1/2 day programmes. Oooh, as I read this brochure it seems magnificent. Definitely try this place and their treatments!!! We took a day off sightseeing to treat ourselves to something similar to this in Saigon. I absolutely loved it, but for a 4 hour programme we only paid $24 U.S. in Saigon. Quite a difference. Both hotels are only about a 15 minute walk to town but we always took the little motorized cabs. If the hotel can't send you a digital brochure, I'll be happy to scan and send to you, if you are interested.
