Whatever you choose, don't don't don't go to the Centaur near the airport. Its one of the worst choices you can make in Delhi while still paying a fairly hefty amount. The Radisson nearby is a much much better choice though it may be on the expensive side.

Oh I so agree with the above post! The Centaur has been around for ages, and I don't think has ever been upgraded (or possibly cleaned). It is one of those hotels which looks scary from the outside....

Cicerone, you mention the Centaur as a possibility in your first post:
"You might try the Centaur which is basically at the airport, I have never been inside, and its owned and operated by Air India, which may not be the greatest endorsement, but see http://www.centaurhotels.com/igi/. Their standard rooms would appear to be just within your budget range." I stayed at Hotel Saptagiri. It too looks a bit scary (-: from outside--one of those all glass outsides which dont allow you to see inside! Rooms were clean, modern, with comfortable beds and surprisingy large enclosed walk-in showers, and great ac. FIne for an overnighter. I think it was about $75/night in June I realize the OP is from 11 months ago, but maybe it will help someone in future. |
Yes I know, I mentioned it because the OP was looking for inexpensive rooms near the airport. Most of the hotels near the airport were offer that range. I did not think I should mention how scary the Centur was if that was the only thing they could afford.
