Hotel Recommendation in Bali
I will be in Bali the last week of July, and would prefer to stay in a hotel that has the followings:

1. Nice beach
2. Close to town (i.e. local restaurants, shops, clubs, etc..)
3. Moderately to expensive price range
4. Balinese atmosphere

Your response is gratefully appreciated!

We just loved the Bali Hilton, in Nue Suda (check spelling). Some people do not like that area as not being true bali, but we did because of the lack of beggers in that gated off resort area.

I believe the Oberoi in Seminyak is the best...

I'm one of those peple who doesn't like Nusa Dua. I prefer the Snaur area, and always stay at the Bali Hyatt - lovely place in a fabulous garden, walking distance to restaurants and shops in Sanur. I recommend the Regency Club rooms. Last stay, I think they were $125 which includes breakfast as well as evening drinks and hors d'ouvres.

I prefer the kuta legian area - close to all the bars, restaurants and the "buzz".

I recommend the hotel Jayakarta in legian. Right on the beach, nice pools, friendly staff and excellent location
|
My preference would be at The Legian at Seminyak. Right on the beach, near a great restaurant called La Luciola and it has better shopping (less frantic) than around Kuta.

Thank you for all the responses.

We decided to make this trip our honeymoon and moved the dates to late November. We will be staying at the Sheraton Laguna in Nusa Dua.

Christie

If you want a couple days really different experience try Puri Bayu in Ubud. You can find this easily through a search on Google
