hotel near Penang airport
 

I just booked a flight out of Penang and all they had let was a 7am departure....Is it wise to be closer to the airport the night before,or leave the Georgetown hotel at 5am to be at the airport by 6....I would hate to miss my last night in georgetown.....Any thoughts here....Steve ...ps....Any suggestions on airport hotel in Penang?

It takes maybe 20 minutes to get to the airport from Georgetown. No reason to change hotels.

I would agree with Kathie, and there aren't that many hotels close to the airport in any case. The closest I can think of is the Equatorial.

Thank you Kathie....I have enjoyed all your reports and replies to other people on this board...My trip this time has been based on a lot of your knowledge on the area,,,along with a few others..so besides the E&O hotel in Penang whats my second best bet there(Im traveling alone this trip)?And in KUL is it better to stay lets say Traders hotel area or should I stay in bukit bintang area with a little more diversity....any thoughts here??/....Thank you again..Steve

Since I've only stayed at the E&O, I'm not a good resource on other hotels in Penang.

In KL, I like the Bukit Bintang area. There are lots of options there.
