Hotel near Imperial Palace?
 

Will be arriving Narita evening 3/22, leaving 3/25, and would like to stay in a Japanese style hotel (unless your experience dictates otherwise) close to the Imperial Palace. Any suggestions? How far (time) and how much (US$) by taxi from Narita?<BR><BR>Will Warren

Taxi from Narita can take from 1-3 hours depending on traffic conditions and cost around &pound;200. Train (JR Narita express or Keisei Skyliner) is much more convenient, there's a train station inside the airport, it costs around $ 20 and takes about 1 hour to Tokyo or Ueno station.

I have stayed in the Hotel New Otani. It is not a Japanese style hotel although I believe it has Japanese style rooms at outrageous hotels. But it has an amazing garden -- hard to believe you are in Tokyo. It is also within walking distance of the Imperial Palace. <BR><BR>I agree, take the JR Express.

Diane,<BR><BR>My wife and I are looking into staying at the New Otani. They seem to distinguish between the tower rooms and the main building. Is there a difference and is one preferable to the other?<BR><BR>thanks,<BR><BR>John
